Hotels near Hyde Park

The neighborhoods surrounding Hyde Park – one of London’s most beautiful green spaces – are generally leafy, residential and upscale; Chelsea, Kensington and Marble Arch especially fit this bill. Only Earls Court and South Kensington offer any significant budget options in terms of hotels, while Marylebone, which abuts both Regent’s Park and a few of the city’s most touristy attractions, focuses largely on high-end business travelers. Knightsbridge (to the south, surrounding Harrods department store) and Mayfair (to the immediate east) are all about five-star hotels and luxury shopping.

For first time-visitors who wish to stay near Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, the ideal neighborhood is South Kensington. The area offers several of the city’s best museums, several significant monuments, and convenient access to both parkland and public transport; the Tube station at South Kensington is the hub for a wide variety of  subway lines.
